I hate those movies. I guess that's an understatement. People always say that Hate is a strong word. That's why I use it. You've got pissed off Yakuza bosses, 100k skyline builds, Michelle Rodriguez driving a blacked-out 95 civic under an eighteen wheeler and an RB26 ripped out of an S15 tossed into a gigantic shelby gt500. I guess if you want to make a good movie, you make a stupid movie that the average blow-Joe can comprehend. Well, what of the enthusiast? Do you waste their time and smile about it; laughing all of the way to the bank, right? They had the nerve to ask Tsuchiya for help on Tokyo Drift... That movie was a joke. Speaking of jokes, does anybody even remember anything of the second movie aside from the fact that Tyrese Gibson ate every five minutes. "We ain't hungry no mo'...!"
Annoying.
Do you know what I would like to see? I want to see a real movie about real drivers. The blood, the sweat, the tears. The oil stuck under your finger nails, (no matter how much Gojo you use). I want to see the eighteen year old kid working at McDonald's or Sonic, that uses half of his check to buy parts. I want to know about the kid that is learning by doing, not opening the movie driving in a 97 Eclipse GSX that's been painted some outlandish shade of green. What's so bad about representing a culture the way that it needs to be? Why do you need to involve sex, guns, lies, drugs and stolen goods just to make a good movie about cars? For that matter....why Paul Walker? Are you serious? Regardless, that is not my gripe.
I had to change my radiator once because I yanked my Fan clutch off too hard while trying to change my belts. I busted the rad and had to swap it out. Yes, I ended up with a much better rad in the end but still, my point is the fact that I learned by doing. I learned not to pull that hard on the fan clutch. Also, I've learned not to open calipers because you kill the seals. That was all thanks to a beginning tuner friend. All-in-all, I'm saying that as a tuner, as an aspiring racer and all-around lover of automobiles and all of the love and pain that comes with them, I would like to know the story of a real driver, of real passion and determination. I don't care about the fact that Tyrese Gibson drives a busted up car because he's on house arrest. He's probably never worked a real day in his life...
